Today will make this the 6th entry I've made for my author's notes. Kind of... Haha! I've been reading a helluva lot more and writing more. I figure, "Hey! Other tidbits?Currently, I'm reading a book entitled "Wicked - The Life And Times Of The Wicked Witch Of The West". It's written by Gregory Maquire and oh my lord, it's fantastic! I got halfway through it the day after it arrived in the mail. And that was with me casually reading it. I'm slowing down now...trying to savor it more, if you will. Why mail you ask? Well....I am a tiny bit reclusive... And since I like this book so much, I'll be setting some monies aside to go buy the sequel: "Son Of A Witch". Yeah... I know you all were thinking that word with a B in front. DON'T LIE! I've been collecting webpages like candy now for some odd reason. I've recently joined myspace and Youtube. o.O Why? Original Fiction page is at fictionpress.com under MachaBadb.Today....This is entry 005, yes! I've had a setback. :-O Nooo! I've been really dragging my feet with the whole writing the chapter bit. And I realize that's wrong. Because my obvious genius should be shared with the world!! Haha! Honestly, I'm no where near that arrogant. I did read from someone who was though. Pitiful. I've often spoken about the chasm between artists and writers. The artists think they're the shit because they draw pictures that immediately draw people in (fanart & fetish artists mainly from what I've seen). The writers are actually the ones you want to watch for and if you get an artist that is a writer, then bravo. Another issue is artists who act like writers. The difference between comic books and books is that what you would take 24 pages to do in a comic, can be done in 1 page of writing. On the other hand, the comic books allow you to see what the artist does. Kind of nice, very much so. Writers, not by choice, are a lot more critical of their work because the story could stall in their minds at any moment. Artists notice what people like and keep tossing it out. Plus, if they do comics, they have a LOT more time to develop everything. The story could only be written 10 pages and it would take them many times that number in days to draw the story out. One storyline webcomic I read took 6 months in real time.... So obviously, it took me some time to read. Because I had to wait for pages to load to the next comic. The thing is, that might have been a 15-30 page story. And what a good one it was though! I'm a writer firstly and foremost. For the past 13 years, I've been doing stories. Drawing I didn't like because it seemed like a lot of work to do...for something that only captured one moment. I'm not dissing artists no, but claiming they're far better than writers is an insult. Because honestly, I've spent too much money on the bloody phones and then they only have a lifespan of maybe 4 months before I have to replace them! It's like a weird tango. And yet... I keep after her. Maybe I'm masochistic. Me depressed though...usually means that my want to continue writing is killed. We'll see, haha! I've been using Open Office for chapter 5 of Pivot... It makes me a wee bit nervous. The program, not the chapter. Because Open Office seems kinda fickle. Eh... Other tidbits?My audio author notes come in handy. Especially if I get a sudden idea and make a running grab for my headset. It's frustrating not having UAPS unrevised. Because I really do wanna be a bard and a shadow realmy person! Also... I'll note that I used to go to a server called "The Forgotten Realm" on a NWN2 server. I'll start uploading the entries of my favorite character there before I left. Macha Alhertine (narcissistic much?). I'm debating...after posting her entries actually continuing her stories. I've always enjoyed Fantasy and Forgotten Realm books. We'll see, eh? *Chuckles.* Alls well that ends well. Current Mood: | |

Lots of time is now going to cooking and cleaning stuff. And bonding with my car. And no! Stretching out on the hood of said car and saying: "I love you" is completely normal! Heh. Other tidbits?I keep sitting and thinking over prices and such... It is a helluva lot cheaper to be an author. Because main prices come from ink useage and paper. But then...it's harder being seen as well. Most people are likely to click on something to look at it on DeviantArt if it's a drawing or a photograph...CG or the like. Being a writer SUCKS! Fanfiction page is at fanfiction.net under MachaBadb.Today....I'm in a lot of places, eh? *Chuckles.* But let's get on track here, hmm? I'm currently working on chapters of Pivot. I did get offtrack with the fanfic I wanted to write for YogurthFrost's piece "Without You". Chapter 4 of Pivot has proven to be a bit of a challege for me to even write. Because when you put together my lack of inspiration and depression in '07 and blend in loosing notes and LOSING notes... Arg. I would love...simply LOVE to say that I am completely free of guilt from ignoring my writing and sinking into a pit. But I'm not. My artwork is crap, in my opinion. But... I can't say the same for my fictions. I'm also opening up to take fanfiction requests. Little stories, ditties and the like. Along with fanfiction, I'll be taking other requests too.
